A boarding school is a school that houses teenagers or children for an extended period of time. The schools are often regular schools with numerous portions of buildings with many different rooms for students to sleep in, which are referred to as boarding rooms, therefore the name boarding school. In a boarding school, kids obtain a more focused educational experience with peers who have similar backgrounds, in this case, Christian beliefs. In conventional boarding schools, students not only receive an education but also participate in group sports, clubs, charity work, and other activities.

Day boarding schools, weekly boarding schools, and the conventional grade 9 through 12th 4-year boarding schools are three different types of boarding schools that are sometimes based on the Christian faith.

o A traditional boarding school is a school that accepts students who stay for long periods of time, typically only going home once or twice a year for a few months of vacation, which is normally during the summer vacation but varies by school. These schools are ideal for teenagers who can't stay out of trouble or away from bad influences without the help of a third party and require constant supervision by multiple people.

o Although there are boarding schools that only run on a weekly basis, weekly boarding schools are occasionally an alternative to a traditional long-term boarding school. Students attending weekly boarding schools are only there throughout the week and are released on weekends. This is ideal for children or teenagers who require an education away from the distractions of their home town while yet being able to see their relatives on a regular basis.

o Finally, day boarding schools are schools that board kids for a long period of time but also offer an alternative for children who wish to enroll but want to live with their families. They would just go to school during the day and return home at night; the only drawback is that day students would only get a portion of the boarding school experience.
